Notifications and the ring sound
No ring sound, or no notice when a seller texts. What to check in Chrome, on your computer, and on your iPhone.
How HandRaise rings
- Chrome: a ring plays from HandRaise, a notification shows Answer and Decline, and a small phone window opens. The ring has no volume setting of its own; it follows your computer's volume.
- iPhone: the iPhone's own call screen and ringtone.
- New texts: a notification on each device, and a count on Chrome's toolbar icon.
No ring sound in Chrome
- Turn up your computer's volume and check the sound output is the speaker or headset you use.
- Make sure HandRaise is signed in and Phone line says Ready.
- Keep Chrome open. HandRaise rings as long as Chrome is running.
No notifications on a Mac
- Open System Settings, then Notifications, then Google Chrome.
- Turn on Allow notifications.
- Check that a Focus, like Do Not Disturb, isn't on.
On the iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app, then Notifications, then HandRaise.
- Turn on Allow Notifications and Sounds.
- Check the ring/silent switch and any Focus, like Do Not Disturb.
If you tapped Not now when the app asked about notices, it won't ask again. Turn them on here instead.
For now, keep the HandRaise app open so calls can ring. Text notices come while the app is open or when iPhone refreshes it in the background.
