Fix the microphone
Nobody can hear you, or a call hangs up right away. Give HandRaise the microphone in Chrome, on your Mac, or on your iPhone.
HandRaise checks the microphone before every call. If it's blocked, the call hangs up and Chrome shows Chrome is blocking the microphone. Press "Allow microphone".
In Chrome
- In the HandRaise panel, click Allow on Chrome needs one-time permission to use your microphone.
- On the page that opens, click Allow microphone, then Allow when Chrome asks.
- If it says Chrome blocked the microphone., click the icon at the right of the address bar, choose Allow, then press Allow microphone again.
- When you see Done. You can close this tab and go back to the phone., you're set.
On a Mac
If Chrome allows it but nobody can hear you, your Mac may be blocking Chrome.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Microphone.
- Turn on Google Chrome, then quit and reopen Chrome.
Also check that the right microphone is picked in System Settings, Sound, Input.
On the iPhone
- Open the iPhone Settings app and scroll to HandRaise.
- Turn on Microphone.
Recording a greeting with the microphone off shows HandRaise needs the microphone. Turn it on in Settings > HandRaise.
